Aziz Elnaggar, MBBS, MPH

Clinical Research Supervisor
Community Health Systems

As a Clinical Research Supervisor in the Community Health Systems department at UCSF, my career has been dedicated to investigating critical aspects of healthcare, with a particular focus on cardiovascular diseases and patient self-care.
Through collaborative efforts, I have contributed to several impactful research publications, exploring topics such as home-based cardiac rehabilitation and its association with improved patient outcomes, as well as the application of mobile technology to sustain physical activity post cardiac rehabilitation.
Additionally, I have been involved in a pilot randomized controlled trial that assessed the effectiveness of a mobile health intervention in promoting physical activity among adults after cardiac rehabilitation. Furthermore, I have conducted qualitative research to gain insights into the perceptions and experiences of older adults with coronary heart disease in using mobile technology for medication adherence.
My educational background includes an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBBS in Medicine and Surgery from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. With a steadfast commitment to advancing healthcare research, my aim is to continue contributing to meaningful studies that positively impact patient care and community health outcomes.
